FirstBank is serious about business. The bank has over $12 billion in assets and over 115 locations in Colorado, Arizona, and California. But it also is serious about its responsibility to the communities it serves.

In December, the bank partnered, again, with The Community First Foundation for Colorado Gives Day. Colorado Gives Day aims to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Not-for-profits work together to promote the event, and businesses and individuals throughout the state to raise cash, all in one 24-hour period.

FirstBank is a corporate sponsor of the event and covers 3rd party processing fees for the online donations so that 100% of the donations go to not-for-profits. That’s a great way for the bank to use its core skills to benefit others.

This December, Colorado Gives Day brought in $15.7 million for 1,246 nonprofits. More than $35 million has been raised through Colorado Gives Day since its inception in 2010.

“It’s inspiring that Colorado Gives Day has managed to grow from $8.4 million to a $15.4 million 24-hour fundraising campaign,” said John Ikard, CEO of FirstBank Holding Company, in a related press release. “We’re proud of our community and the residents whose selfless acts have made this such a worthwhile initiative year-after-year. When FirstBank signed on as a corporate sponsor in 2010, we had no idea how successful Colorado Gives Day would be.We’re ecstatic it has motivated so many to give to organizations that make Colorado such a vibrant place to live.”
